AZ STEAM Structure

We operate two class groups encompassing elementary and middle/high school levels. Our classroom model is founded upon an amalgamation of Waldorf and Montessori principles, aimed at cultivating the most inspirational and immersive learning setting. Each day commences with a morning assembly where the school unites as a community to review goals, emotional well-being, and needs. Subsequently, students of different age groups divide into teams to undertake quests aligned with their personalized standards-based learning journey, involving mentoring, projects, and interactive activities.

Frequent field trips to the local library, museums, parks, and other destinations with educational value put students in an immersive environment where they are able to actively interact with learning adventures through real world experiences as we set the stage for building curiosity and resourcefulness. Class locations vary, with main campus option currently in Hereford.

We believe knowledge is actively constructed by the experiences of students, and not just passively absorbed from lectures and textbooks

AZ STEAM Curriculum

Studies in the field of educational psychology have consistently demonstrated that for learning to yield positive results, it must be engaging, enjoyable, and interactive. Upon enrollment, each student undergoes assessments in mathematics, reading, and writing through the use of educational games specifically designed to identify their individual strengths and weaknesses in relation to Arizona state standards. Subsequently, educators employ these assessments to tailor personalized learning paths for the students, which are then integrated into interactive real-life quests. Diverging from traditional educational approaches, we abstain from assigning grades, as we hold the expectation that each student will strive for excellence. Instead, we evaluate proficiency in subjects based on the student’s tailored learning path in accordance with Arizona state standards.
