Sierra Vista, AZ – In a moment of pride and celebration for local education and innovation, AZ STEAM Academy’s CyberSecurity Team, aptly named “Legendary,” was awarded the esteemed President’s Cup trophy last Saturday afternoon. Dan Guilmette, President of the CyberSecurity Department at Cochise College,  honored the small Microschool with the trophy as the schools director recognized the team’s exceptional dedication, skill, and achievements over the past year.

This ceremony marks a significant milestone for the Academy, as it was the first major event held in our new Adventure Center—a space designed to foster creativity, innovation, and real-world learning experiences for neurodivergent students. Though the ceremony was small, the team accepted the trophy with gratitude.

“We are honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” said a spokesperson from AZ STEAM Academy. “This award represents countless hours of hard work, team collaboration, and a deep commitment to learning in one of the most critical fields of our time.”

Team “Legendary” has quickly made a name for itself in the cybersecurity circuit, with multiple accolades already under their belt. The President’s Cup adds a crowning achievement to their growing list of honors, symbolizing both their technical expertise and their potential as future leaders in the tech world.

The event not only celebrated student success but also highlighted the growing role of community partnerships in education. Their accomplishments prove the future of hands-on, locally rooted STEM education in Cochise County looks brighter than ever.

As the trophy took its place in the Adventure Center, one thing was clear—Team Legendary is just getting started!
